My philosophy and the midwifery model of care is a holistic, evidence-based approach that prioritizes personalized, respectful support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It emphasizes informed choice, continuity of care, and trust—empowering individuals to take an active role in their health and birth experience. By honoring the natural process of childbirth, it promotes the well-being of both parent and baby.

A little about me ❊

My journey to midwifery began as a doula in 2019. With a deep desire to foster an environment of love, empowerment, and respect, I served numerous families as a birth assistant and student midwife at Austin Area Birthing Center. I’m currently Licensed through the state of Texas, and certified through the North American Registry of Midwives. I am now accepting due dates in December 2025 and onward!

Through gentle encouragement and compassionate collaboration, we will build the trust necessary to cultivate an environment of love and respect to nurture self, family and community. I appreciate the opportunity to be part of your journey in such a meaningful way. Thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you. ❊

Home Birth

  • This option provides comprehensive midwifery care with a planned home delivery.

I will be on call for you 24/7 starting at 37 weeks. Then I will come to your home when you are in active labor to monitor you and baby throughout the entire process.

  • An OB holds a medical license that specializes in care for complex high risk cases. They are also trained surgeons and can perform complex procedures such as cesarean sections and  suturing of 3rd and 4th degree vaginal lacerations. Licensed midwives are autonomous healthcare providers who are experts in low risk pregnancy and birth. They are trained via a didactic model of education, requiring apprenticeship. They must complete clinical requirements, pass a National board examination, and maintain certifications and CEUs annually.

  • I will always welcome doula support! Doulas and midwives serve different, yet complementary roles in the childbirth process. A doula provides emotional and physical support to the birthing person before, during, and after labor. They focus on comfort measures, education, and advocacy but do not provide medical care.

In contrast, a midwife is a trained healthcare professional who manages the medical aspects of pregnancy and childbirth. Midwives can perform prenatal check-ups, deliver babies, and provide postpartum care. While both play essential roles in supporting birthing individuals, midwives are licensed to provide clinical care, while doulas focus on emotional and physical support.

  • This answer sometimes requires sitting down together and taking an in-depth health history. Midwives out of hospital only care for low-risk people, meaning we have to be sure you are a good fit. Some things that might disqualify you from midwifery care include serious pre-existing conditions such as blood clotting disorders, hypertension, diabetes, some medications, and multiple surgeries on your uterus. While conditions that arise during pregnancy like pre-eclampsia and gestational hypertension will also risk you out of home birth care.

  • Home birth can be a safe, empowering choice when well-planned and supported by experienced professionals. The key is appropriate risk assessment and access to timely medical care if needed. Multiple studies have shown the safety of home birth for low-risk parents to be the same (or safer) than birth taking place in the hospital. There are (of course) risks involved with any birth, and Midwives are trained and skilled in managing emergencies and unexpected complications.

  • Midwives are trained in normal low-risk birth and are highly skilled at noticing and preventing complications. However, sometimes emergencies happen that are unpreventable. Midwives carry emergency antihemorrhagic medications, IV supplies, oxygen, and neonatal resuscitation equipment for those instances. In a true emergency, a midwife can act as the provider that stabilizes you for hospital transfer. In this situation, the midwife would activate EMS, help facilitate transfer, go with you to the hospital, and stay until you are stable.

  • Water birth provides a calming environment during labor, easing tension and pain. Warm water promotes relaxation, potentially speeding up labor and reducing reliance on pain relief. It allows for movement and comfortable positions, enhancing the birth experience. Research suggests water birth may lead to fewer medical interventions and better outcomes for both parent and baby, making it a valuable delivery option. Birthing pools can be rented for your birth!

  • I do not currently accept traditional insurance. If you have health insurance through a co-op sharing program, your services are typically fully covered. Families can also use funds from their HSA accounts to make payments.
